1. Scope of Works
R6 Stone Ltd’s primary and core service is stone masonry, including the templating, fabrication, and installation of stone surfaces, as outlined in the agreed quotation.
In addition, R6 Stone Ltd is Gas Safe registered and is able to provide estimates and quotations on request for additional services, including but not limited to:
• Plumbing works
• Gas works
• Electrical works
• Complete kitchen removals
• Full kitchen refits
• Removal and disposal of existing surfaces
All additional services are quoted separately, must be expressly agreed in writing, and are only included where clearly detailed within the agreed quotation or scope of works.
2. Templating Requirements & Attendance
Templating can only be carried out once the kitchen or installation area is fully fitted and in place. All base units, end panels, decorative fillers, and wall units (where relevant) must be installed prior to our arrival. Where measuring for splashbacks or wall cladding, walls must be plastered and squared (but not tiled).
The client or appointed project manager must be onsite during templating to confirm and approve all details, including but not limited to:
• Material selection
• Thickness
• Joint positions
• Tap hole locations
• Cut-outs
• Overhangs
• Upstands
• Window cills
• Pipe boxes
3. Appliance Requirements
All appliances must be onsite at the time of templating, including:
• Sinks
• Taps
• Hobs and ovens
• Extractor hoods
• Pop-up sockets
• Soap dispensers
• Boiling water taps
• Any other items requiring cut-outs, ventilation, or clearance allowances
Where appliances are not present, accurate make and model details must be supplied in advance. R6 Stone Ltd cannot be held responsible for errors, delays, or additional costs arising from missing, late, or changed appliance specifications. If we attend a pre-arranged templating appointment and the site or appliances are not ready, a £150 + VAT abortive visit charge will apply.
4. Installation Scheduling & Turnaround Times
Installation dates are scheduled as soon as possible following templating. Indicative turnaround times (e.g. 5–7 working days or 6-day turnaround) are estimates, not guarantees, and may vary depending on:
• Material availability
• Project complexity
• Access conditions
• Manufacturing schedules
We will always communicate clearly should timelines need to adjust.
5. Gas, Plumbing, Electrical & Associated Works
R6 Stone Ltd is Gas Safe registered and does carry out gas-related works. We are also able to provide estimates and quotations on request for plumbing, gas, electrical works, kitchen removals, kitchen refits, and surface removal/disposal. All such works are quoted separately, must be agreed in writing, and are only included where expressly detailed within the agreed quotation.
6. Cabinet Strength, Preparation & Levelling
Base units and islands must be fully installed, level, secure, structurally sound and fit for purpose. Some kitchen units are designed only for lightweight worktops. Additional strengthening (batons/supports) may be required, particularly around sinks, hobs, dishwashers, washing machines, and other appliances. Any advice given by our templater must be implemented prior to installation.
Where cabinets are not level or adequately prepared, and R6 Stone Ltd is required to carry out levelling works:
• A set fee of £150 + VAT will apply for standard cabinet levelling
• Larger or more complex projects will be costed according to the number of units and time required
Any such costs will be added to the final invoice.
7. Installation Day Requirements
• Base units and islands must be fully installed, level, and secure
• Existing worktops must be removed prior to our arrival unless agreed otherwise
• All appliances must be onsite
The client or appointed representative must be present to inspect the installation, sign off the work, and make final payment. Our installers will not leave site until cleared funds are received.
8. Payment Terms (Strict)
• A 60% deposit is required upfront to secure materials, templating, and fabrication
• The remaining balance is due on the day of installation
• Payment must be made in full before the installation team leaves the premises
• No exceptions
All materials remain the property of R6 Stone Ltd until paid for in full.
9. Material Ordering, Changes & Restocking
Where requested, R6 Stone Ltd can pre-order materials to secure availability.
• If material is changed after ordering, a £300 re-stocking fee will apply
• If the material is non-refundable, the client is liable for the full material cost
• All changes must be confirmed in writing and are subject to supplier terms
10. Materials, Natural Stone & Pricing Variations
Natural stone materials (including marble, quartzite, and granite) are priced based on generic slab sizes and supplier pricing, which may vary by supplier and availability. Natural stone may contain:
• Veins
• Fissures
• Crevices
• Pits
• Colour and movement variation
These are inherent characteristics, not defects.
11. Natural Stone Finishing & On-Site Works
In some cases, natural stone may require on-site finishing, including resin or filler work to stabilise or enhance natural features. This is a normal and accepted part of professional stone masonry, does not indicate a fault, and does not compromise the integrity of the stone. R6 Stone Ltd stands fully behind its knowledge, judgement, and professional practice when carrying out such work.
12. Faulty Material & Liability Limitation
Where a material fault is confirmed by the manufacturer or their appointed inspector:
• Replacement material is supplied free of charge by the manufacturer
• R6 Stone Ltd’s liability is limited to: Fabrication of replacement stone, Removal of defective stone, and Re-installation of replacement stone.
13. Exclusions from Liability
R6 Stone Ltd shall not be liable for:
• Plumbing, gas, or electrical works not included in the agreed quotation
• Cabinetry removal or refitting
• Decorating, plastering, tiling, or making good
• Third-party contractor costs
• Hidden fixings or undisclosed site conditions
• Damage caused by prior installations or third parties
• Minor scuffs, marks, or cosmetic damage to walls, paintwork, or surrounding finishes that may reasonably occur during the removal of existing or faulty worktops
Where removal of existing or faulty stone surfaces is required, all reasonable care will be taken; however, due to the nature of bonded materials, minor cosmetic disturbance may be unavoidable and does not constitute negligence or a defect.
14. Vein Matching & Waterfall Panels
Vein matching is a major priority for R6 Stone Ltd. Where island tops and waterfall panels can be cut from the same slab, we will always do so. Where slab size or layout prevents this, a perfect vein match cannot be guaranteed; however, we will match tone, direction, and movement as closely as humanly possible to achieve the most seamless finish achievable.
15. Porcelain Drainer Grooves
R6 Stone Ltd does not fabricate drainer grooves in porcelain surfaces, as they do not achieve a finish that meets our quality standards. Alternative design solutions are available.
16. Edges & Finishes
• Bevelled edge supplied as standard
• Alternative profiles available on request
• Pencil and bevel edges perform equally; selection is personal preference
17. Chopping Boards
Where surplus material allows:
• Available for 2cm material only
• £75 + VAT
• Subject to availability
• Not supplied free of charge due to additional labour
18. Guarantees & Warranties
18.1 Manufacturer Material Warranty: All materials are supplied with a full manufacturer’s warranty, where applicable. Warranty length and coverage vary by supplier and material type and cover material defects only.
18.2 1-Year Chip Protection Cover: One accidental chip repair within the first year, free of charge, subject to inspection and repairability.
18.3 5-Year Workmanship Guarantee: Covers defects arising solely from our fabrication and installation. If confirmed, we will rectify at no labour cost. Excludes misuse, heat, chemicals, impact damage, movement, inadequate cabinet support, natural stone characteristics, and third-party works.
18.4 Silicone & Grout Warranty: Includes a 1-year workmanship warranty on silicone and grout. Silicone and grout are maintenance items and replacement is not included within the 5-year workmanship guarantee.
19. The R6 Price Beat Promise
Because we work with every major stone brand and supplier in the UK, and have spent over 20 years building supplier relationships most showrooms cannot access, if you find the same stone, in the same thickness and specification, offered by any competitor on a like-for-like basis, we will beat their price. No hidden extras. No inflated London mark-ups. No surprises. Just the worktop you want, at the sharpest price in the market, finished with our VeinMatch precision and 6-day turnaround (subject to availability and scope).
20. Customer Care, Rectification & Respect
We take great pride in our workmanship; however, we are only human. If an issue arises as a result of our fabrication or installation, we will take responsibility, rectify the issue promptly, and cover reasonable costs associated with correcting our workmanship. We ask that all concerns are raised calmly and respectfully. We do not tolerate abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour towards our staff. Such behaviour may result in works being paused or withdrawn.
21. Marketing & Photography
R6 Stone Ltd reserves the right to take and publish photographs and/or videos of completed installations for marketing purposes.
22. Design Decisions & Third-Party Advice
All design decisions, including (but not limited to) joint positions, seam placement, overhangs, edge profiles, cut-out locations, and layout, are discussed and agreed prior to fabrication, either during templating or layout approval. Once a layout or design has been approved, it is deemed final. R6 Stone Ltd shall not be liable for opinions, recommendations, or criticisms provided by third parties (including designers, builders, other stonemasons, online forums, or independent advisors) that are sought after fabrication or installation has taken place. Differences in professional opinion regarding aesthetic or design preference do not constitute a fault, defect, or workmanship issue.
23. Cooling-Off Period, Deposits & Bespoke Goods
Stone worktops supplied by R6 Stone Ltd are bespoke, made-to-measure products manufactured or allocated specifically for each client. Once a deposit has been paid, we may order, reserve, or allocate material for the project. Accordingly:
• Any deposits paid are non-refundable once material has been ordered, reserved, or allocated, whether or not fabrication has commenced
• Once fabrication has commenced, cancellation is not permitted
• Where material has been ordered and is non-refundable from the supplier, the client will be liable for the full cost of the material
• Where material is refundable or subject to supplier restocking terms, a £300 + VAT restocking fee will apply
These terms reflect the bespoke nature of stone worktops and do not affect a client’s statutory rights in the event of faulty goods or defective workmanship.
24. Dispute Resolution & ADR
R6 Stone Ltd is committed to resolving any concerns fairly, professionally, and directly wherever possible. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, clients may seek advice or resolution through an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. While R6 Stone Ltd is not obliged to participate in ADR, we will always provide details of a suitable ADR provider upon request and consider any reasonable proposal for dispute resolution. Nothing in this clause affects a client’s statutory rights to pursue a claim through the courts.
25. Acceptance
Proceeding with an order, payment, templating, or installation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in full.
